Project: Multimedia Extensions

The multimedia subsystem of OS/2 (MMOS/2) wasn't touched for quite a long time and therefore parts of it are very limited wrt features and stability.
The goal of this project is to extend and replace MMOS2 where it's feasible. Currently a new set of multimedia classes is available to replace those coming with OS/2. An improved IO-procedure is capable of reading progressive JPEG-images. This package is known as cw-multimedia classes. Visit http://www.os2world.com/cdwriting for more information. In the future you'll find full source code here.

Use the bugtracker for reporting problems.

Currently you get:

  • New enhanced multimedia WPS classes to replace the standard ones.
  • Additional MP3-, Ogg-, PNG-, FLAC classes.
  • M3U playlist class.
  • Audio stream class (only Icecast supported for now)
  • New JPEG IO-procedure.
  • Multimedia player for any supported audio format with playlist support.
  • ID3 tag display in player.
  • CD player with FreeDB support
  • M3U playlist editor (no http://... support).
  • Integrates nicely with Audio/Data-CD-Creator and WPS-Wizard.
  • Image file information in the settings and the details view.
  • Improved lighttable folder with settable preview size.
  • And much more...

Todo list:
